A man, who has lived away from his country for more than a decade, returns to his village to avenge his brother’s death. In a country where corruption and extortion are normal, those who act in the name of the State arrest and kill with impunity. Alberto tries to fight the tyranny of the state and save what’s left of his family. But will anything change in the country?
“Estrada de Palha”” is a type of Alentejo western that takes place in the first decade of the 20th century. The story focuses on Alberto, an emigrant who returns to his home village in search of justice and is confronted with power games and corruption. Film inspired by the work “”Civil Disobedience”” by Henry David Thoreau.
